Identification. Frontal lobes in frontal view triangular; general cephalic profile in lateral view ovoid; compound eyes relatively small; and ventral mesopleural carina (epicnemial carina of Serna and Mackay 2010) absent ( Lattke 1997).

Distribution. The specimens found in Colombia are all new records for the country as well as a major range ex- pansion to the west ( Fig. 1A View Figure 1 ) as Apterostigma angustum was only known from Venezuela and French Guiana ( Lattke 1997; Fernández and Sendoya 2004).
