Identification. Head in frontal view with frontal lobes ovoid; anterior portion of clypeus with profile concave and convex in the middle; mandibles with 7–8 teeth; and humeral prominence high ( Lattke 1997).
Distribution. Apterostigma jubatum is mostly distributed throughout the Amazon-Orinoco basin, known to occur in Bolivia, Colombia, Peru, and Venezuela ( Fernández et al. 1996; Lattke 1997) as well as the Bra- zilian states of Amazonas, Minas Gerais, and Pará.
