Trichophysetis ethiopica sp. n.

Imago (fig. 21): Wingspan 12–13 mm. Head white, maxillary palpus tufted, labial palpus porrect, in ♀ 3× diameter of eye and pointed, segment 3 reddish brown. Thorax and tegulae whitish. Forewing base reddish brown, double curved antemedian fascia, beyond this white in costal third, below that reddish brown, faint double postmedian fascia, termen reddish brown, white towards costa near apex. Hindwing marking as forewing, terminal line dark fuscous especially strong towards dorsum. Fringe of both wings reddish brown..

Male genitalia: not examined.

Female genitalia (fig. 94): ostium wide, ostial chamber cylindrical then tapering to colliculum, then ductus bursae gradually widening into corpus bursae, a bulla on one side.

Diagnosis: Distinguished from other species in the genus by the reddish brown colouring on the forewing.

Life history: not known.

Derivation: from the country where the species has been found.

Distribution; Ethiopia.

Type material: Holotype ♀ Abyssinia, Harar 24.iv.1939 R.E. Ellison NHMUK 010923529 . 3 paratypes, same data as holotype, 1♂ without abdomen, 1♀ 26.iii.1939, 1♀ 29.iv.1939 BM Pyralidae Genitalia slide No. 23294 NHMUK 010921062 ( NHMUK) .
