Holepyris subtilis Evans, 1977

This species was previously known only from the United States, Costa Rica and Panamá. Now it is recorded for the first time from Brazil (Pará).

Diagnosis. Mandibles edentate; third antennal segment 2.2 X as long as wide; flagellar pubescence very short and subapressed; WH 0.97 X LH; WF 0.90–1.20 X HE; anterior angle of ocellar triangle obtuse; pronotal disc 1.5–1.6 X as wide as long; propodeal disc 1.20–1.34 as wide as long, with five strong carinae.

Variation. Clypeus dark brown; mandibles castaneous; antennae dark brown; coxae, femora and tibiae dark brown, tarsi light castaneous; metasoma black.

Material examined. BRAZIL, 1 male, Pará, Santana do Araguaia, 1–13.VII.1992, D. Pimentel coll. (MPEG).
