I did not successfully examine Kohl’s type, if it exists anymore. The original description by Kohl does not permit an indisputable determination. The female specimen at NHMW determined by Maidl is identical to the holotype of Pseudotiphia caspica . Arguing that he may have examined the type, I therefore propose Pseuotiphia caspica as junior synonym of Tiphia arenicola .
