Remarks. The species is eponymous of the C. appendiculata -complex revised by Sinclair (1999); most specimens possess a basal spur on vein R 4. It is widely distributed in Central and North Europe and prefers colder streams. In the Alps it is recorded at elevations between 700 and 2,500 m a.s.l. It is new for Portugal.
