7. Cricotopus View in CoL . Usually inhabits moss cushions along the shoreline and shallow waters of small lakes. It is also found on rocky bottoms in small lakes and even on the surface of silty bottoms. Species Cricotopus s.str. tibialis (Meigen) and C. (Isocladius) glacialis Edwards are typical here, though many larvae are not identified at the species level.
