Type locality. Tenerife, Canary Islands.

Lectotype: 1„ [ Otiorhynchus /ex Prof. Teneriff./ V. Winthem] pinned under ‘‘ Eremnus tetricus ’’. NR (Coll. Schönherr), Stockholm. Prothorax has been glued back ( Figure 8B View Figure 8 ). Paralectotypes: 1„ [Tenériffe] [Paratype] [833]; 1 ex [494] [ tetricus /Schönh./Canar.], both pinned under ‘‘Type/ Laparocerus tetriculus Schhr. 942’’. NR (Coll. Chevrolat), Stockholm. Remarks. The numbers attached to the paralectotypes may relate to localities in Tenerife, but if that is the case, no further information is available. The species is common in lower eastern localities of the island, like Santa Cruz, Güímar, or Candelaria.
