Type locality. Ilheu de Fora , Island of Madeira .

Holotype: 1„, Ilheu de Fora , 19 March 1840, leg. Wollaston and Armitage. MNH, London.

Remarks. In the Appendix of the same work where L. forae is described as a species, Wollaston (1854, p 619) transfers it as a subspecies of L. schaumii ( Wollaston, 1854) , and subsequently he considers it a full synonym ( Wollaston 1857, p 115). Lona (1838, p 439) listed the synonym under the name ‘‘ Laparocerus Florae ’’, an incorrect subsequent spelling without nomenclatural availability.
