Type locality. Ilheu de Châo, Islets of Dezertas, Madeiran archipelago.

Holotype: 1„ [Châo/11-5-57], G. Colas leg. [Type] [ Laparocerus / morio vandeli /Roudier/ Type/A. Roudier]. MNHN (Coll. Générale), Paris. Paratypes: 12„„, 6♀♀, same data as holotype. 1♀, 1952, Ilheu Châo, Ch. Barreto leg. MNHN (Coll. Générale), Paris.

Remarks. This taxon is a junior synonym of L. chaoensis Uyttenboogaart, 1940 (nov. syn.).

Lectotype: 1„ [545], Campo do Baixo , December 1848, Porto Santo, Wollaston leg. (ex litt.). MNH, London . Paralectotypes: 2♀♀, same data. MNH, London .

Remarks. Wollaston (1854) cannot recall whether the insects were collected at the Campo de Baixo or at a higher elevation, but the mounting card bears the number [545] which corresponds to the sandy hills at the Campo do Baixo.
