Lectotype: 1„, Lanzarote (purple card-line) [Type] [ dispar, Woll. ]. Paralectotype: 1 ex, all tarsi and right posterior leg missing. NHM, London. 1„, 1♀ [Hope Entomological/ Collections/Wollaston Coll.] [ Laparocerus / dispar Woll. ]. UMO, Oxford.
Remarks. One of the four syntypes was collected by Mr Gray; the rest by Wollaston.

Remarks. Type species by monotypy of the genus Cyphoscelis Wollaston 1854 , regarded as subgenus of Laparocerus since Lacordaire (1863).
