Brevicornu Marshall View in CoL View at ENA
Brevicornu Marshall 1896: 306 View in CoL . Type-species, B. flavum Marshall ( Tuomikoski 1966: 184) View in CoL .
ALLODIA View in CoL , authors, not Winnertz.
B. simile ( Freeman) 1951: 92 , fig. 177 (♂ terminalia) ( Allodia ). Type-locality: Argentina, Río Negro, Bariloche. Holotype ♂, NHM.
Notes. The type series included the male holotype, fifteen male and eight female paratypes, all of which are at the NHM. The holotype labels are: “ Allodia / similis [hw] / Freeman. / HOLOTYPE ” [printed on red label]” // [male terminalia on a microslide attached to a pinned plastic stripe]” // “HOLO- / TYPE” [printed in black on a rounded label with red border]” // “Bariloche. / 25–28.x.1926.” // “ Argentina: / Prov. Río Negro. / F. & M. Edwards / B.M. 1927–63.” // “BMNH(E) # / 254516”. The holotype is in very good condition, only the tip of one of the forelegs missing. The paratypes are numbered BMNH(E) # 254517-37. It may be the case that some of the paratypes are not conspecific with the holotype being lighter in colour and mostly yellow on the thorax .
