Mycomya (Mycomyopsis) Väisänen 1984: 25 . Type-species: Sciophila trilineata Zetterstedt 1838 (orig. des.).

M. forcipata Freeman 1951: 42 , figs. 53–54 (♂ terminalia). Type-locality: Argentina, Rio Negro, Lago Gutiérrez. Holotype ♂, NHM.

Notes. The type series included the male holotype, ten male and four female paratypes, of which the holotype, nine male, and three female paratypes are at the NHM . The labels of the holotype are: “ Mycomya / bifida [hw] / Freeman. / HOLOTYPE ” [printed on red label]” // [male terminalia on a microslide attached to an acetate sheet] // “HOLO- / TYPE” [printed in black on a rounded label with red border]” // “Lago Gutiérrez / 3–10.xi.1926.” // “ Argentina: / Terr. Río Negro. / F. & M. Edwards / B.M. 1927–63.” // “BMNH(E) # / 257562”. The holotype is in excellent condition. Two of the male paratypes have the terminalia dissected ( BMNH (E) # 257563-74) .

M. longistila Freeman 1951: 42 , figs. 55–56 (♂ terminalia). Type-locality: Chile, Llanquihue , Peulla. Holotype ♂, NHM.

The twenty-two paratypes (only one of which with the terminalia dissected) are numbered BMNH(E) # 257576-97 .
