Species identification. There are six species in this genus and only the male of this species is known from simple figures ( Simon 1897). The female was described by Thorell as Libania armillata Thorell, 1890 and without subsequent description ( Platnick 2010). It was thought our specimens should be Cebrenninus rugosus Simon, 1887 (P. T. Lehtinen, pers. comm.).

Remark. The specimens of Cebrenninus described by one of the authors (Tang et al. 2009: 41–42, figs 1A–F) deserve further study, referring to the different ratio of the embolus/median apophysis compared to C. rugosus .
