*Genus Perigona Laporte de Castelnau, 1835 View in CoL
The genus is distributed worldwide and the African species were revised by Basilewsky (1989) under the Perigonini tribe. Lorenz (2005) then recognized the eight genera given by Basilewsky (1989) at the subgenera level. Within the African Perigona (Perigona) and the Perigona (Euripogena) Basilewsky, 1989 subgenera, there are six and three recognized species, respectively (see Basilewsky 1989; Baeher 2004b; Serrano 2008; Lorenz 2021). The genus Perigona was never reported from Guinea ‒ Bissau.
