Type locality: Portugal: Azores Archipelago: Lucky Strike hydrothermal field, 37°20′N, 32°17′W ( Bartsch 1994).

Ecological notes: Depth 1636 m, marine benthic ( Bartsch 1994), common on rocky formations, associated with poriferans, hydrozoans, nematodes, polychaetes, molluscs, crustaceans and pycnogonids ( Bartsch 1996).
