TYPE LOCALITY.— “ Republic of Equatorial Guinea, Bioko Norte Province, along Pico Basilé road, northeast slope of Pico Basilé , 03°37′42.4″N, 08°48′11″E, ca. 1820 m elevation” GoogleMaps .
DISTRIBUTION.— This species was known only from some localities of the Pico Basilé region ( Blackburn 2010), from where it was presumably endemic, but we record an additional population from Bioko Sur province, close to Caldera de Luba surroundings ( Map 2B View MAPS ).
COMMENTS.— This species is currently the only known endemic amphibian of Equatorial Guinea. The additional record provided herein represents the southernmost known locality for this species. The identity of the single examined specimen, a female, was also confirmed by molecular analyses (authors unpublished data).
