Fig. 28–35
Plants monoecious, up to 6.7cm high, without calcium carbonate deposition.Axes 172–326 μm in diameter; internodes 0.6–1.5 times longer than the branchlets, up to 1 cm length; cortex 3 corticate, isostichous to slightly tylacanthous, regular; spine-cells solitary, rudimentary to well developed, 46–1487 μm long and 27–50 μm in diameter at the base. Stipulodes in one whorl, two times as numerous as the branchlets 296–833 μm long, 39–74 μm in diameter, acuminate. Branchlets 6–10 forming a whorl, 0.3–0.8 cm long; intercalary segments 3–4, corticate, 648–1601 μm long, 98–168 μm in diameter; basal segment ecorticate, 380–1891 μm long, 44–88 μm in diameter; apical segment formed by 1 ecorticated cell, 386–974 μm long, 43–88 μm in diameter. Bract-cells 4–7, forming whorls, 206–838 μm long, 41–89 μm in diameter, acute or acuminate. Bracteoles 2, 332–786 μm long, 41–84 μm in diameter, often smaller than the mature oogonia. Gametangia conjoined or sejoined, at 1 st –5 th lowest nodes. Oogonia 330–541 μm long 231–333 μm in diameter; convolutions 9–11; coronula 51–111 μm high, 125–169 μm wide, apex divergent. Oospores dark brown to black, 331–404 μm long, 208–284 μm wide; striae of 9–11 low ridges; fossae 33–50μm across; membrane opaque granulate. Oospore wall granular in ultrastructure. Antheridia 189–279 μm in diameter, octoscutate.
