Megalastrum subincisum (Willd.) A.R.Sm. & R.C.Moran, Amer. Fern J. View in CoL 77(4): 129. 1987 [1988].
Until the study by Moran et al. (2014a, 2014b), this had been considered to be a common and widespread species, occurring from southern Mexico and Antilles to Bolivia, and quite variable in Bolivia. Moran et al. (2009a, 2014b) defined the species more narrowly and with a range restricted to the Antilles, southern Mexico, Honduras, northern Venezuela, and Colombia. Bolivian specimens previously determined as this are various species, especially M. alticola , M. marginatum , M. praetermissum , and M. rupicola .
