Olfersia cervina View in CoL (L.) Kunze, Flora 7: 312. 1824.
= Elaphoglossum cinctum Rosenst., Repert. View in CoL Spec. Nov. Regni Veg. 25: 63. 1928.
Range: —Antilles; southern Mexico to Bolivia (BE, CO, LP, SC) and southern Brazil.
Ecology: —Common; terrestrial and on fallen logs, in humid forests; to 2000 m.
Notes: —Juvenile plants have simple blades that can be mistaken for Elaphoglossum but are distinguished by the abundant, golden rhizome scales 25 × 1 mm and the presence of an intramarginal connecting vein. Indeed, the name Elaphoglossum cinctum Rosenst. was based on juvenile plants of Olfersia .
