Range: —Andes from Venezuela to Bolivia (CO, LP).

Ecology: —Uncommon; epiphytic in humid forests; 350–1300 m.

Notes: —The blades typically dry a blackish green, unlike the pale green of most other species of Elaphoglossum . The peltate scales are reminiscent of E. tectum , but that species has stellate hairlike scales on the abaxial blade surfaces, while the long apices may lead to confusion with E. murinum , which has thin, long-creeping rhizomes.
