Range: —Antilles; southern Mexico to Venezuela and Bolivia (CO, LP, PA).
Ecology: —Uncommon; terrestrial in humid forests, often creeping in the ground or on rocks; to 1000 m.
Notes: —May be confused with Hypoderris and to a lesser degree with Tectaria (both Tectariaceae ), but these genera have discrete, round sori and herbarium material usually dries paler green.
