Apterous male. Color. Body dark brown to black ( Fig. 1c View FIGURE 1 ), covered by long golden setae. Antenna brown with base of antennomere I light yellow. Pronotum brown with a central rectangular orange spot, covered by a pruinose layer. Coxae and trochanters light yellow. Fore femur yellow from base to middle, apex brown; middle femur brown; hind femur dark brown with dorsal yellowish brown stripe at base, tibia and tarsus dark brown in all legs. Abdominal terga and sterna dark brown.

Structure. Head short, shining black at insertion points for trichobothria and at a triangle formed by minute dots on vertex, with long setae along mesal margins of eyes. Two ocular setae present. Antennomere I with seven long robust setae; II with long robust setae. Pronotum short, covered by long dark setae. Mesonotum hexagonal, slightly convex on center. Metanotum short, with posterior margin straight, lateral margin with shining punctations anteriorly. Legs covered by robust setae, fore tibia not curved, constricted on apical third, hind femur with a row of 11 spines on posterior surface, composed of five spines, followed by one long spine, and 4 short spines decreasing

towards femoral apex. Abdomen covered by golden setae, anterior margin of tergite I with shining punctations; mediotergites I–VI subequal in size (each 0.18), VII longer (0.36). Abdominal laterotergites slightly elevated, with a bright spot on lateral margins and rounded posterior corner. Paramere shape complex as in Fig. 3c View FIGURE 3 .

Apterous female. Similar to the apterous male in structure and color, except with mesonotum concave, hind femur without spines on posterior margin, and abdominal mediotergites V–VII with black spots centrally.

Geographic distribution. Previously known only from Valle del Cauca, bay of Buenaventura ( Polhemus & Manzano 1992). Here we extend its distribution to the Chocó Department, also in the Pacific Region of Colombia ( Fig. 4 View FIGURE 4 ).
