Leptotrombidium (Leptotrombidium) bodense var. tenompaki Vercammen-Grandjean and Langston, 1976: 347 , pl. 61.

Diagnosis. SIF = 7B-B-2-2111.0000; fPp = N/N/BNN; Pc = 2; Gn = 2; fSc: PL ≥ AM> AL; SB/PL; fCx = 1.1.1; fSt = 2.2; fD = 2H-8-6-6-4-2; DS = 28; VS = 20–24; NDV = 48–52; Ip = 687–765; AW 62–71, PW 70–84, SB 27– 35, ASB 27–31, PSB 12–14, SD 40–44, AP 26–28, AM 52–62, AL 37–51, PL 56–64, S 84–88, H 53–61, D min 44– 51, D max 51–57, V min 34–37, V max 48–53, pa 240–266, pm 207–230, pp 240–270. Eyes 2 + 2. Scutal posteromargin clearly bilobate. Ratio PW/AP = 2.85. SB 1–2 µm anterior to level of PLs. Dorsal idiosomal setae covered with 3 rows of moderate barbs (barbed tripectinala). Flagelliform sensilla nude in proximal half and with 19–22 long branches in distal half ( Vercammen-Grandjean & Langston 1976).

Type material (not examined). Holotype larva (No 19245) from Tupaia montana Thomas , MALAYSIA: Sabah State, Kinabalu Mt, Tenompak, 1500–1660 m above sea level, 16 August 1953, coll. R. Traub. Nine paratypes larvae from T. montana , Maxomys whiteheadi (Thomas) , Hylomys suillus Müller , Dremomys everetti (Thomas) , and “common grass snake”, MALAYSIA: Sabah State, July–August 1953, coll. R. Traub and B. C. Walton. Type series is deposited in IMR.

Etymology. Species epithet refers to the type locality (Tenompak).
