Genus Euparatettix Hancock, 1904 View in CoL

Type species: Paratettix personatus Bolívar (= Euparatettix personatus )

The genus Euparatettix is similar to numerous Tetriginae genera, e.g. Hedotettix , Tetrix , Ergatettix, Banatettix and Paratettix and is not clearly separated from them. However, a set of the characters derived from Hancock (1907), Liang & Zheng (1998) and Tumbrinck (2015) could define this probably not evolutionary unit: (i) eyes clearly elevated above the level of vertex and pronotal discus, (ii) antennal grooves placed between the lower margin of the compound eyes, (iii) lateral ocelli inserted between the middle of the compound eyes height, (iv) very narrow vertex, (v) frontal costa elevated and clearly visible from profile and (vi) flattened pronotum with truncated anterior margin (always straight).
