Trichochrous ruficauda Blaisdell 1924 a: 326–327. Holotype, male, from “Palm Springs Cal”, CAS type #2697, examined. Leng and Mutchler 1927: 27 (catalog); Pic 1937: 95 (catalog).

Pristocelis [sic] volki Howell 1979: 43–45. Holotype, male, from “east of Lake Elsinore, Riverside County, California ”, CAS type #16396, examined. Howell 1997: 12; Mawdsley 2003: 157. New synonymy.
