C o m m e n t s. The maxillar fragment with P4 – M2 comes from sandstones of the bed 4 in the Volchaya Balka section. In size (P4: 4.25 × 4.25; M1: 3.05 × 3.0; M2: 2.85 × 3.2) and morphology this form is very close to numerous records of small trogontheriine beavers from the Middle and Late Miocene of Europe .
