Material examined. Holotype. Male ( A02352 View Materials , Fig. 4 View FIGURES 2–16 ), Indonesia, Halmahera , road Weda to Tobaru, 190 m, 0°19.58’N, 127°49.68’E ( LMBC). GoogleMaps

Diagnosis. Eniclases kusyi has a unique color pattern if compared to Eniclases species known from New Guinea and Halmahera. Its elytra are uniformly black and the pronotum has yellow lateral margins. The middle part of the pronotum is black-colored ( Fig. 4 View FIGURES 2–16 ). The color pattern of E. kusyi resembles similar Metriorrhynchini from Halmahera.

Description. Male. Body length 5.15 mm, head, antennae and elytra uniformly black, middle part of pronotum black, pronotal margins yellow, legs dark brown to black, only basal part of femora yellow. Head with large, hemispherically prominent eyes, their eye diameter 1.21 mm times interocular distance. Antennomeres 3–10 slightly serrate, almost parallel-sided ( Fig. 15 View FIGURES 2–16 ). Pronotum trapezoidal, wider than long, lateral margins with slightly projected hump in basal third of length. Elytra with weak, regular secondary costae, elytral cells regular. Male genitalia robust, with characteristic cup-shaped apex, basal part of phallus well-sclerotized, dorsal keel distinct ( Fig. 11 View FIGURES 2–16 ).

Distribution and diversity. Halmahera Island.

Measurements. BL 5.15 mm, EL 4.45 mm, WH 1.58 mm, PL 0.82 mm, PW 1.23 mm, Edist 0.39 mm, Ediam 0.47 mm.

Etymology. The specific epithet is a patronym proposed in honor of Dominik Kusy, a colleague studying beetle phylogeny.
