Chelicerae 220 long; swol- len cheliceral part 80 long, slender distal part 140 long. Fixed cheliceral digit with spinous process, 20 long. Setae dF and dG subequal in length, 60 long. Palpal tibia with short claw; palpal tarsi with 3 setae. Subcapitular setae n absent. Peritremes about 150 long. Hypostome about 190 long. Idiosoma 485 long and 800 wide. Dorsum. Genital series represented by 1 pair of spine-like conspicuous setae g1 40 long. Pseudanal series represented by 1 pair of setae ps, 50 long. Legs chaetotaxy as in melanum group i.e. setae of trochanters I–IV (1–1–1–1), femora I–IV (3–1–1–1), genua I–IV (2–1–0–0), tibiae I–IV (5–3–3–3). All setae on each podomere slightly serrate, except for serrate setae d’FI–IV. Setation of tarsi: I 11 setae (ft, tc’, tc”, p’, a’, a”, it’, it”, u’, u”, vs’) and solenidion ω1; II 8 setae (tc’, p’, p”, a’, a”, u’, u”, vs’) and ω1; III and IV with 8 setae each (tc’, p’, p”, a’, a”, u’, u”, vs’). Setae tc’ of legs II–IV and setae a’, a”, u’, u”, vs’ of legs I–IV smooth.
Type material (examined). One female lectotype ( NHM no. 1966.2.22.849) from Agama agama (Linnaeus) (Sauria: Agmaidae) ( NHM no. 1902.5.26.4–6), KENYA: Kitui district, 26 May 1902, coll. S. L. Hinde.
Type material deposition. All types deposited in the NHM .
Host and distribution. This species is known only from Agama agama from Kenya [Kitui district] ( Jack 1961).
Remarks. According to the original description of the species ( Jack 1961) on tarsi I “two pairs of plumose setae behind the claw” are present whereas on Fig. 5c View FIGURE 5 in the original species description only one pair of setae p is present. Moreover, in the examined specimen only one seta (p’) is present and setae dm1 are filiform (vs. slightly serrate in the original description) and 7–8 pairs of the peripheral setae are present (vs. 10 pairs).
