Pterygosoma garissi Fajfer, 2013 ( Fig. 69 View FIGURE 69 and 70 View FIGURE 70 )
Pterygosoma garissi Fajfer, 2013: 258 , figs 1−2
Type host: Agama agama (Sauria: Agamidae ). Type locality: Kenya (Garissa County).
Diagnosis. Gnathosoma . Chelicerae 210–230 long. Slender cheliceral part 1.7 times longer than swollen cheliceral part. Fixed cheliceral digit with several tines. Setae dF 1.2 times shorter than dG. Palpal tibia with short claw; palpal tarsi with 4 setae. Subcapitulum with smooth setae n. Hypostome with smooth roughly triangular apex. Idiosoma 530–635 long and 1160–1230 wide. Dorsum with 3 groups of serrate setae: 53–67 pairs of antero-lateral setae; 2 pairs of postero-lateral setae and 2 pairs of dorso-median setae dm1 and dm2. Peripheral series represented 8–9 pairs of slightly apically expanded setae: 5 pairs located medially, 3–4 pairs laterally. Eyes absent. Venter with filiform setae vm1 and serrate setae vm2 and vm3. Genital slit situated mainly ventrally. Genital series represented by 3 pairs of spine-like setae g1–g3, 30, 5 and 10 long, respectively. Pseudanal series represented by 4 pairs of paddle-shaped setae ps1–ps4, with minute spicules on apical margin. Legs chaetotaxy as in inermis group ( Table 1) All setae on each podomere filiform, except for slightly serrated setae d’FI–IV. Setation of tarsi as in group A
( Table 2). Setae tc’ of legs II–IV, setae a’, a”, u’, u” of legs I–IV and setae vs’ of legs I smooth, setae vs’ of legs II slightly serrate and vs’ of legs III–IV serrate.
MALE. Unknown.
Type material (examined). Female holotype and 2 female paratypes from Agama agama (Linnaeus) (Sauria: Agamidae ) ( ZMUC no. R3619), KENYA: Garissa County, 26 January 1937, coll. B. Benzen; 1 female paratype from same host ( ZMUC no. 3667), KENYA: Garissa County, Bura Tana, 20–24 October 1947, coll. Ahlefeldt and Jacobsen.
Type material deposition. Holotype in the ZMUC, 2 female paratypes in the AMU, 1 female paratype in the ZISP.
Host and distribution. This species is known only from Agama agama from Kenya [Garissa County] ( Fajfer 2013b).
Remarks. In the original description of this species setae a’ and a” of tarsi I are marked incorrectly as eupathidia and it’ and it” of tarsi I as simple setae ( Fajfer 2013b) whereas the re-examination of P. garissi shows that setae a’ and a ” are simple, and setae it’ and it ” of tarsi I are represented by eupathidia.
