Thinocorus rumicivorus (VAG) View in CoL : occurs in southwestern Ecuador, Peru, Chile, Bolivia, Argentina and Uruguay ( Castro et al., 2012). It breeds in southern South America and migrates in austral winter ( Azpiroz et al., 2012). In Brazil, one young individual was recorded for the margin of the Lagoa do Peixe/RS in April 1990 by P.T.Z. Antas ( Belton, 1994), but it was not documented; and another was recorded for the coast of Ubatuba/SP in April 2012 that was documented with a photograph ( Castro et al., 2012). In addition, the species was also photographed in Mostardas/RS in May 2013 and 2014 (WikiAves, 2016).
