Material examined. 1 ovigerous specimen (cl 4.4 mm), OUMNH.ZC. 2011-06-0050, Mexico, Yucatan Peninsula, Quintana Roo, 1 km south of Mahahual , sand flat with sparse seagrass and some rocks and coral rubble, under rocks / rubble, depth: 0.5–1 m, leg. A. Anker & J. Duarte-Gutiérrez, 06.07.2010 [fcn MAH-010]; 1 ovigerous specimen (cl 3.7 mm) MNHN-IU- 2019-2303 , Mexico, Yucatan Peninsula, Quintana Roo , Isla Cozumel, 1 km north of Playa Corona , sand flat off fossilised coral platform, in dead conch shell, depth: 1.5–2 m, leg. A. Anker & J. Duarte- Gutiérrez, 08.07.2010 [fcn COZ2-001 ] .

Remarks. Salmoneus wehrtmanni , previously known from Mexico based on older USNM material from Bahía de Ascensión ( Anker 2010a), is now also recorded from Mahahual and Cozumel ( Fig. 7 View FIGURE 7 ). All these localities are situated in Quintana Roo, Yucatan Peninsula, and the species is also known from Panama, Honduras, and Tobago ( Anker 2010a). Despite the Caribbean-wide distribution of S. wehrtmanni , this is the first time the species is reported since its original description.
