Genus Hemiphanes Förster, 1869 View in CoL View at ENA
Hemiphanes Förster, 1869: 172 View in CoL . Type species: Hemiphanes flavipes Förster, 1871 View in CoL . Designated by Viereck (1914).
Two species, H. erratum View in CoL and H. flavipes Förster, 1871 View in CoL , have been recorded from Japan ( Kasparyan et al., 2012). In this study, I record H. gravator Förster, 1871 View in CoL from Japan for the first time, and some distribution data of Hem. erratum Humala, 2007 View in CoL from Hokkaido and Honshu. In addition, one new species, H. japinicum sp. nov., is described. Although Santos (2017) treated that this genus is a member of the subfamily Cryptinae , I follows the previous system of the classification.
