Regalana uni View in CoL sp. nov.

( Figs 86 View FIGURES 86 ─97, 105)

Diagnosis. Male pygofer (Fig. 91) with posterior margin slightly acute. Style (Figs 93, 94) with ventral margin serrated at apical half. Aedeagus (Figs 95─97) shaft without lateral spiniform process, a pair of short spiniform processes on posterior surface at apical fourth; apex with three pairs of processes: AM shorter and spiniform, AL longer and directed anteriorly, and LV directed ventrally, arising parallel to shaft in lateral view, and without spiniform projections.

Measurements (mm). Holotype male: total length 6.00.

Coloration. Male sternite VIII (Fig. 90) lateral margins with narrow stripes, posterior margin with median macula extending towards the center, brown.

External morphology. Head ( Fig. 86 View FIGURES 86 ) with transocular width about 4/5 of pronotum humeral width. Forewing (Fig. 89) approximately 3.5 times longer than wide.

Male terminalia. Sternite VIII (Fig. 90) with lateral margins slightly sinuous, posterior margin with small concavity medially. Pygofer (Fig. 91) with posterodorsal margin near rectilinear; posteroventral margin slight concave; apex slightly acute. Valve, in ventral view, about as wide as long; lateral margins convergent posteriorly; posterior margin convex. Subgenital plate (Figs 91, 92) widest at basal half. Connective (Fig. 93) with rami longer than stem; apex truncated. Style (Figs 93, 94) apical half with ventral margin serrated. Aedeagus (Figs 95─97) shaft tubular, elongated, and curved dorsally; lateral margins without spiniform processes, pair of short spiniform processes on posterior surface at apical fourth; apex with three pairs of processes: anteromedian (AM) short and spiniform, anterolateral (AL) long and directed anteriorly, parallel to each other, laterodorsal (LD) absent, lateroventral (LV) longer, approximately half length of shaft, directed ventrally, arising parallel to shaft in lateral view, and without projections.

Female unknown.

Etymology. The new species name alludes to Uni , the unicorn, one of the protagonists of the TV series Dungeons & Dragons.

Material examined. Holotype male, “ French Guiana Point de vue du\Bélvédère de Saül [3°37’N 53°12’W]. Window trap\ 29.10.2010 ” “S.E.G. col”, DZRJ.

Notes. Regalana uni sp. nov. is smaller sized species of the genus. It can be easily distinguished from the latter and other Regalana species by the diagnostic characters above, in addition to the aedeagal shaft, absent to laterodorsal process (LD) and lateroventral processes (LV) parallel to shaft (Figs 95, 96).

The new species was collected with a glass intercept trap in an unflooded Amazonian Rainforest.
