Phlugiolopsis cangshanensis Zheng, Shi & Chang sp. nov., Chinese name PƜ吟ª

( Fig. 2 View FIGURE 2 )

Description. Male. Body small. Fastigium verticis conical, apex rounded, with longitudinal sulcus on dorsal area. Eyes globular, protruding forwards ( Fig. 2A View FIGURE 2 ). Apical segment of maxillary palpus subequal to subapical one in length, apical area inflated.

Pronotum feebly elongate backwards, anterior margin slightly prominent, posterior margin rounded; lateral lobe longer than deep, humeral sinus absent ( Fig. 2B View FIGURE 2 ). Tegmina short, apices slightly surpassing posterior margin of pronotum, reaching posterior margin of second abdominal tergite, apices rounded ( Fig. 2B View FIGURE 2 ). Hind wings absent.

All femora without spines on ventral surfaces. Fore coxa with 1 spine; fore tibia with 4 spines on both internal and external margins of ventral surface; tibial tympana open and oval on both sides. Middle tibia with 4 internal spines and 5 external spines on ventral surface. Knee lobes of hind femur with apices rounded; hind tibia with 24–27 spines on both sides of dorsal surface, bearing 2 pairs of ventral apical spurs and 1 pair of dorsal apical spurs.

Tenth abdominal tergite with posterior margin slightly concave. Cercus short, slightly curved inwards; basal third expanded inwards on dorsal surface, inner margin arc-shaped ( Fig. 2C View FIGURE 2 ); interno-ventral surface with a digitate process near base, which curved forwards in apical half; cercus slightly depressed near the middle, apex rounded. Subgenital plate with basal margin feebly concave, posterior margin rounded ( Fig. 2D View FIGURE 2 ); styli inserted at apex of subgenital plate on lateral margins.

Female. Unknown.

Coloration. Body yellowish brown. Eyes dark brown. Dorsal area of head with 4 longitudinal dark brown stripes. Flagellum of antenna with sparse annulate brown stripes, lamellar uplift on inner margin of antennal scrobe dark brown. Disc of pronotum with broad longitudinal brown stripe, lateral margins dark brown. Genicular lobes black; tarsi dark brown.

Material examined. Holotype: ♂, Maidi, Yangbi, Yunnan, 29 August, 2020, coll. Peng Cui. Paratype: 1♂, same collection data as for holotype .

Measurements (mm). Body: ♂ 8.2–8.4; pronotum: ♂ 3.4–3.5; tegmen: ♂ 1.1–1.2; hind femur: ♂ 8.1–8.5.

Discussion. The new species resembles Phlugiolopsis tridigitis Pan & Bian, 2024 , but it differs from the latter in: male cercus with broad expansion on interno-dorsal surface in basal third, its internal margin arc-shaped; interno-ventral surface with a digitate process near base, which curved forward in apical half.

Etymology. The name of the new species refers to its type locality Cangshan.

Distribution. China (Yunnan).
