DISTRIBUTION: Morocco to Arabia.

COMMENT:: Placed in genus Canis , subgenus Vulpes by Van Gelder, 1978:8. Vulpes includes Fennecus which is often treated as a separate genus; see Clutton-Brock et al., 1976, 29(3): 117-199; Clutton-Brock and Corbet, 1979, Bull. Zool. Nomenci., 36.
