TYPE LOCALITY: Mexico, Veracruz, Rio Alvarado .

DISTRIBUTION: S. Gulf coast of Texas ( U.S.A.), south along coast to Veracruz ( Mexico).

COMMENT: May be only subspecifically distinct from mesoleucus ; see Hall, 1981: 1025.
