TYPE LOCALITY: Colombia, Bogota. Interpreted to be the mountains near the capital .

DISTRIBUTION: Andes of Colombia, W. Venezuela, and Ecuador.

COMMENT: Nasua olivacea, Gray, 1843 , is a nomen nudum. Includes olivacea , meridensis, and quitensis; see Cabrera, 1958:249, and also for discussion of type locality.
