( Figs 15–18 View FIGURE 15 View FIGURE 16 View FIGURES 17 – 20. 17, 18 )

Paraneodryinus malayanus Olmi 1991: 362 . Junior subjective synonym of Neodryinus pseudodiffusus Olmi 1984 according to Olmi 1998: 87.

Neodryinus pseudodiffusus: Olmi 1998: 87 , 89 (part.).

Material examined. Types: Holotype, female, MALAYSIA: Pahang, Pulau, Tioman, Kampong Tekek to Kampong Juara, 27.iii.1962, K.J. Kuncheria coll. ( BPBM!). Fraser's Hill, The Gap, 23.iii.1962, D.H. Colless coll., 1 female paratype ( ANIC!). Negeri Sembilan, Pasoh Forest Reserve, 25.viii.1979, P. & M. Becker coll., 1 female paratype ( AEI!).

Diagnosis. Female with disc of pronotum almost flat, with a hardly visible posterior transverse impression ( Fig. 17 View FIGURES 17 – 20. 17, 18 ); notauli complete or hardly visible; segment 5 of fore tarsus with one row of less than 20 medial lamellae ( Fig. 18 View FIGURES 17 – 20. 17, 18 ). Male unknown.

Redescription. Female: ( Figs 15 View FIGURE 15 , 16 View FIGURE 16 ): fully winged; length 4.3–5.6 mm. Head black, except mandibles testaceous; occasionally clypeus and genae testaceous; antenna brown, except segments 1–2 testaceous or whitish; mesosoma black; occasionally lateral regions of pronotum with reddish nuances; metasoma brown or black; fore legs brown, except coxae and trochanters yellow or whitish; occasionally fore tarsi testaceous; mid and hind legs brown or black, except trochanters and tarsi testaceous or whitish. Antenna clavate; antennal segments of holotype in following proportions: 9:6:37:25:17:13:11:9:7:13; antennal segments of a paratype from Malaysia, The Gap, in following proportions: 10:5:32:23:17:12:8:7:6.5:10; antennal rhinaria present in segments 6–10. Head excavated, dull, reticulate rugose; frontal line complete; occipital carina incomplete, present behind and on sides of posterior ocelli, laterally extending beyond 0.5 length of OOL; POL = 1.5; OL = 2; OOL = 10; greatest breadth of posterior ocelli longer than OL (3:2); posterior ocelli touching occipital carina; temples distinct. Palpal formula 6/3. Pronotum dull, crossed by a strong anterior transverse impression; anterior collar and lateral regions smooth, without sculpture or weakly granulated; disc flat, rugose, with numerous irregular longitudinal keels, with a hardly visible weak posterior transverse impression ( Fig. 17 View FIGURES 17 – 20. 17, 18 ); posterior edges of pronotum rounded, not produced into lobes. Scutum dull, reticulate rugose. Notauli of holotype complete and posteriorly separated; minimum distance between notauli longer than greatest breadth of posterior ocelli (5:3). Notauli of other specimens hardly visible, incomplete, reaching about 0.6 length of scutum. Scutellum and metanotum dull, completely reticulate rugose. Propodeum dull, completely reticulate rugose; dorsal surface much longer than posterior surface (34:20); posterior surface with two longitudinal keels. Forewing with two dark transverse bands; marginal cell open; distal part of stigmal vein much longer than proximal part (32:11). Hind wing hyaline, distally darkened. Fore tarsal segments in following proportions: 27:4:8:24:40. Enlarged claw ( Fig. 18 View FIGURES 17 – 20. 17, 18 ) with a subapical tooth and a row of 21–24 lamellae. Segment 5 of fore tarsus ( Fig. 18 View FIGURES 17 – 20. 17, 18 ) with one row of 8–9 lamellae; distal apex with a group of 9–18 lamellae. Tibial spurs 1/0/2.

Male: unknown.

Distribution. Malaysia.

Hosts. Unknown.

Remarks: Neodryinus malayanus (Olmi) was considered erroneously a junior synonym of N. pseudodiffusus Olmi (Olmi 1998) . Really, these two species are different, because in N. malayanus the segment 5 of fore tarsus has one row of lamellae (two in N. pseudodiffusus ) and the pronotal disc is almost flat, less humped than in N. pseudodiffusus ( Figs 17, 20 View FIGURES 17 – 20. 17, 18 ).
