Figs. 1 View FIGURES 1 A–B, 2A–B
Description (male only): Head: Mostly reddish brown, frontal vitta orange and silvery microtrichose immediately in front of ocelli, slightly darker and bare behind. Orbital strip yellow-orange. Parafacial yellow-orange ventrally, black along dorsal margin. Pedicel with black apical ventral bristles.
Thorax: Mesonotum with a broad central strip flanked by silvery microtrichose margins, middle of broad central strip with a narrow vitta that expands into a silvery part expanding on to scutellum posteriorly. Posterior row of katepisternal bristles black, other katepisternal bristles yellow. Dorsocentral bristles in a single prescutellar pair. All tarsi white. Mid and hind femora pale brown or yellowish with long, distinct and broad brown bands on basal halves, brown bands of distal halves short and indistinct, about as long as femoral width.
Abdomen: Pale brown, dull and microtrichose except for shiny S8. Pleuron pale except for a dark pleural sac occupying dorsal 2/3 of P2. Sternite 5 with an elongate genital fork, with long, slender arms distinctively turned in and slightly downturned in distal half, base of each arm with three finger-like inner lobes, each ending in a single spur, basal two lobes very long and narrowlyseparated or contiguous. Basal distiphallus short, broad and depressed, about half as long as epandrium; genital bulb with a spout-like basal neck; distal distiphallus threadlike and tapered towards apex.
Type material: Holotype (#m, DZUP): BRAZIL. Parana, São João de Graciosa, Poço Preto , 25°23’54”S, 48°52’6”W, 76m, multi lure traps, 24–28.Feb.2015, Savaris & Norrbom, DEBU collection database number 00398226 (barcode sequence number MYCRO 0592-19 ). GoogleMaps
Etymology: The specific name refers to the digit-like lobes at the base of the genital fork.
Comments: Although this species is known from only a single male specimen collected at the same time and place as the closely related S. ornatifemur , it is recognized on the basis of several characters including the long, finger-like inner basal lobes on each side of the genital fork, the relatively short basal distiphallus, the single dorsocentral bristle and the narrow central vitta on the notum.
