Tennessee: Henderson Co.: Natchez Trace State Park , 27-VI-1965, J. & L. Donahue, det. J. E. McPherson (1♂ MSUC). [Sevier Co.]: The Chimneys, GSMN Park , 11-VI-1946, R. R . Dreisbach (1♂ MSUC) .

Distribution: United States: AL, AR, AZ, FL, GA, IL, IN, LA, MD, MO, MS ( Ashmead 1895, Lago & Testa 2000), NC, OK, PA, TN, TX, VA. ( Mexico, Central America, West Indies, n. South America)

Comments: Uhler (1886) also listed Proxys albopunctulatus (Palisot de Beauvois) from the “Southern States”. This record was considered doubtful by Van Duzee (1904). For completeness, Froeschner (1988) still listed Proxys albopunctulatus in his catalog, but it is almost certainly a misidentification of this species. Although Simons (1969) recorded this species from Alabama in his thesis, the records above represent the first known published records for this state.
