Piezodorus guildinii ( Westwood, 1837)

Distribution: United States: AR ( Smith et al. 2009), FL, GA, LA ( Temple, Davis, Hardke et al. 2013; Temple, Davis, Micinski et al. 2013), MO ( Tindall & Fothergill 2011, Sites et al. 2012), NM, TX ( Suh et al. 2013). ( Mexico, Central America, West Indies, South America).

Comments: The record of this species from New Mexico ( Van Duzee 1904, 1907) needs verification, especially because Bundy (2012) did not examine any specimens from New Mexico. This species was also recorded from Louisiana in a dissertation ( Temple 2011). A closely related species, Piezodorus oceanicus (Montrouzier) , was recently recorded from Hawaii ( Matsunaga et al. 2019).
