This genus currently contains fourteen species, all of which occur in the United States and/or Mexico. The genus was first revised by Nelson (1955), who later added another species to the genus ( Nelson 1957). Eventually, another species was added ( Thomas 1984), and then more were discovered, necessitating a new review of the genus ( Thomas & Brailovsky 2000).
