Lactobacilluspasteurii (pas.teu‘ri.i. N.L. gen. masc. n. pasteurii of Pasteur).

Lactobacilluspasteurii produces mainly D(−)-lactic acid from glucose; acid isalso produced from ribose, fructose, mannose, cellobiose, maltose, lactose and sucrose [ 93]. The genomesize is 1.87 Mbp and the mol% G+C content of DNA is 38.5.

Isolated from the human intestine.
