Description. Holotype. Female. Body length 3.0 mm, fore wing length 3.7 mm.

Head. Transverse in dorsal view, 1.9× as wide as long, nearly as wide as mesoscutum. Vertex between eye and posterior ocellus dull, rough without punctures. Temple rough, uneven without punctures, broad. Face nearly 0.8× as high as wide, dull with even bumps, sparsely pubescent, inner margin of eyes subparallel-sided. Ocelli not large, posterior tangent to anterior ocellus touching posterior ocelli, distance between fore and hind ocellus slightly longer than diameter of hind ocellus, POL:OD:OOL=5.5:2.0:6.5. Antenna distinctly shorter than body length, closely articulated, penultimate flagellomere about 1.8× longer than wide.

Mesosoma. Length:width:height = 57.0:34.0:38.0. Disc of mesonotum slightly shiny with indistinct, sparse punctures, interspaces much larger than diameter of puncture, punctures disappeared at apex, no trace of rugosity between punctures at posterior end of notaulic courses. Scutellar sulcus curved, extremely narrow with shallow foveate. Scutellum shiny and smooth entirely, median length much longer than basal width. Lateral polished field of scutellum reaching half length of scutellum. Propodeum shiny, long, areola V-shaped apically, depressed inside, without costulae, spiracle enclosed by hind keels, elsewhere shiny, polished. Mesopleuron shiny, anterior parts slightly shiny but almost impunctate.

Legs. Hind femur relatively thick, 3.0× longer than wide. Hind coxa rough without punctures. Spines on outer side of third tibia sparse. Inner spurs of hind tibia fully half length of hind basitarsus, outer spur 1/4. Basitarsus of hind leg weakly longer than tarsomeres 2–4 combined, claws of normal size.

Wings. Pterostigma 3.2× as long as its widest part. Vein 1-R1 about as long as pterostigma, 4.4× as long as its distance from apex of marginal cell. Vein r arising from apex of pterostigma, almost perpendicular to the latter, slightly longer than width of pterostigma, 1.2× longer than 2-SR, indistinctly angled at junction, 2-M 4/5 as long as 2-SR, the latter as long as m-cu, 1-SR slightly shorter than 2-SR+M, the latter slightly shorter than 2-M. First discal cell of fore wing nearly 1.2× wider than high. Second submarginal cell of hind wing quadrate. Vein cu-a strongly curved at apical half, slightly longer than 1-1A. Hind wing broad, length of 1-M distinctly shorter than distance between its distal extremity and apex of vannal lobe, and vannal lobe beyond its widest part straight and hairless.

Metasoma. Nearly as long as mesosoma (55.0:57.0). T1 parallel-sided, indistinctly converged at apex, long, 2.2× longer than hind width, concave at basal two-fifths, turned-over part dull, rough with small, sparse punctures laterally, longitudinal channel relatively broad and smooth, and apical tubercle polished. T2 dull, rough, except for several indefinite punctures, trapezoid, 2.1× wider than long in the middle, slightly curved into T3 apically. T3 1.6× longer than T2. Tergites posterior to T2 shiny, smooth and pubescent. Hypopygium not longer than apex of metasoma. Ovipositor sheath 1.1× longer than length of hind tibia, relatively wide, hairs long and dense, apical attenuation of ovipositor indistinct but long.

Colour. Black. Tegula black. Palpi dingy yellow and spurs pale yellowish. Antenna and ovipositor sheath dark brown. Labrum and mandible dark brown. Legs dark brown to black, except apex of fore femur, fore tibia, fore tarsus, extreme apex of mid femur, fore tibia with tarsus, basal half of mid tibia, mid tarsus and extreme basal part of hind tibia bright reddish yellow, apical half of mid tibia yellowish brown. Wing membrane hyaline, weakly brownish, C+SC+R, 1-R1, border of pterostigma, r, 2-SR and 2-M yellowish brown, other alar veins more or less pale yellowish brownish, pterostigma pale yellowish.

Variation. Body length 2.3–3.4 mm, fore wing length 3.1–3.7 mm. Specimens from Heilongjiang with slightly larger pterostigma and shorter T2 (3.2× wider than long in the middle).

Male. Unknown.

Material examined. Holotype: 1♀, Xianrending, Mt. Tianmu , Zhejiang, 2001.VII.1, Piao Meihua, No. 200106280 . Paratypes: 1♀, Dailing , Heilongjiang, 1977.VII.24, He Junhua, No. 771773 ; 1♀, Mt. Longtan , Jilin, 1995.VIII.21, Lou Juxian, No. 961924 ; 1♀, Xianrending, Mt. Tianmu , Zhejiang, 1999.VIII.17, Ma Yun, No. 997331 .

Distribution. China (Heilongjiang, Jilin, Zhejiang).

Etymology. The specific name “ lateroglabris ” derives from the Latin “latero-” and “glabris”, referring to the anterior parts on mesopleuron almost impunctate.

Remarks. This species is similar to A. machaeralis Wilkinson , but differs in the following: punctures on mesoscutum disappeared apically and without any rugosity at posterior end of notaulic courses (with rugose band in latter); distance between posterior ocelli slightly shorter than distance between one of them and the eye-margin (distinctly greater in latter); and metacarp 4.4× as long as its distance from apex of marginal cell (rather short, about 3.0× in latter).
