Apanteles aristaeus Nixon, 1965: 95 View in CoL . Holotype ♀ (examined)— India [NHM, Fig. 104b View FIGURE 104 ]. Shenefelt, 1972: 446; Chou, 1979: 304; Chou, 1981: 77; Chen & Song, 2004: 27; You, 1995: 506.
Diagnosis. Body length 3.6 mm, fore wing length 3.8 mm. Body mostly black, hind femur dark brownish to black. Ocelli large, posterior tangent to anterior ocellus transecting posterior ocelli, distance between fore and hind ocellus shorter than diameter of hind ocellus. Antenna distinctly shorter than body length, penultimate flagellomere 1.4× longer than wide. Interspaces between punctures on disc of mesonotum distinctly smaller than its diameter. Areola on propodeum closed with strong costulae. Pterostigma 2.6× as long as its widest part, vein 1-R1 as long as pterostigma, vein r 2.3× longer than vein 2-SR, weakly angled at junction. T1 parallel-sided, weakly narrowed posteriorly, 1.5× longer than hind width, turned-over part slightly shiny, rough, weakly rugose-punctate laterally, longitudinal channel small with short transversal carinae inside; T2 shiny and polished, 4.4× wider than long in the middle; T3 2.7× longer than T2. Ovipositor sheath 0.84 length of hind tibia.
Host. According to label, Deudorix epijarbas Moore ( Lepidoptera : Lycaenidae ). According to literature, it is the parasitoid of Cydia leucostoma Meyrick (Olethreutidae) ( You, 1995). Perilampus sp. ( Perilampidae ) is its hyperparasite (Subbiah, 1987).
