Diagnosis. M 2 not reaching M 1; bifurcated basal expansion on gonocoxite; two pairs of arms of gonocoxite, the dorsal larger and broader than the ventral, both with bristles; ejaculatory apodeme 0.8 times the length of gonostylus; cercus with an elongated projection with two apical bristles.

Description. Male. Head subcircular in frontal view. Antenna with 13 flagellomeres; cylindrical scape; subquadrangular pedicel; basal flagellomeres pyriform and eccentric ( Fig. 27 AView FIGURES 27 A – G); ascoids 1.2 times as long as a flagellomere; 13 th flagellomere subcylindrical with terminal apiculus separated by a suture ( Fig. 27 FView FIGURES 27 A – G). Palpus three segmented; first segment with sensilla in depressed pit on medial surface; palpus formula 1.0: 0.6: 0.5 ( Fig. 27 BView FIGURES 27 A – G). Wing. M 2 not reaching M 1; R 4 + 5 incomplete at base; r-m and m-cu absent ( Fig. 27 CView FIGURES 27 A – G). Male terminalia: Hypandrium and gonocoxites fused with bifurcated basal expansion and lateroposterior bristles. Two pairs of arms of gonocoxites, the dorsal larger and broader than the ventral and both with bristles ( Figs. 27 D, 27View FIGURES 27 A – G H). Gonostylus slightly sclerotized, articulated ventrally to gonocoxite, bare, truncated. Aedeagal complex with one pair of Hshaped fused projections. Aedeagus ending at midline of projections in the aedeagal complex ( Fig. 27View FIGURES 27 A – G H). Ejaculatory apodeme 0.8 times the length of gonostylus. Epandrium longer than wide, subcircular. Cercus digitiform with an elongated projection with two apical bristles ( Figs. 27 D, 27 E, 27 GView FIGURES 27 A – G). Hypoproct with apical setulae ( Fig. 27 GView FIGURES 27 A – G).

Etymology. The epithet hileiana  refers to the erudite term, given by Alexander Humboldt to the old province which included the forests of the Amazon.
