Diagnosis. R 4 + 5 complete at base; hypandrium strip-like; long and lanciform prolongations on gonocoxite that cross between them at apex; arm of gonocoxite curved to the midline, pilose apically with row of small rod-like bristles; aedeagus long, approximately twice the length of projections in the aedeagal complex; cercus pilose with bifurcated apex.

Description. Male. Head subcircular in frontal view. Antenna incomplete in the studied specimens; scape larger than pedicel; pedicel subspherical; basal flagellomeres, eccentric ( Fig. 31 AView FIGURES 31 A – H); ascoids 1.6 times the length of flagellomere ( Fig. 31 CView FIGURES 31 A – H). Palpus with three segments; 1 st segment with sensilla in depressed pit on medial surface; palpus formula 1.0: 0.5: 0.4 ( Fig. 31 BView FIGURES 31 A – H). Wing. R 4 + 5 complete at base; r-m and m-cu absent ( Fig. 31 DView FIGURES 31 A – H). Male terminalia: Hypandrium strip-like ( Fig. 31 HView FIGURES 31 A – H). Gonocoxites with two long and lanciform prolongations that cross between them in the apex ( Fig. 31 FView FIGURES 31 A – H). Arm of gonocoxite curved to the midline, pilose apically with row of small rod-like bristles. Gonostylus articulated to gonocoxite at the middle, bare, small, triangular. One pair of gonocoxite wide, sclerotized ( Fig. 31 HView FIGURES 31 A – H). Aedeagus long, approximately twice the length of projections in the aedeagal complex ( Fig. 31 EView FIGURES 31 A – H). Ejaculatory apodeme short, 1.2 times the length of projections in the aedeagal complex. Epandrium pilose, subrectangular ( Fig. 31 GView FIGURES 31 A – H). Cercus pilose, bifurcated apex ( Figs. 31 E, 31 GView FIGURES 31 A – H). Epiproct shorter than hypoproct, both with apical micropilosity ( Fig. 31 EView FIGURES 31 A – H).

Female. Unknown.

Material examined. Brazil, Bahia, Coração de Maria, holotype ♂, 18.XII. 2003, I. Castro leg. ( MZFS).

Etymology. The epithet mariensis  refers to the type locality.
