Diagnosis. M 2 with base unsclerotized, m-cu present; one pair of curved projections in the aedeagal complex. Aedeagus bifid and convergent; ejaculatory apodeme short, 0.5 times the length of the gonostylus.

Description. Male. Head subcircular in frontal view. Antenna with 13 flagellomeres; scape and pedicel subcylindrical; flagellomeres pyriform and eccentric ( Fig. 7 AView FIGURES 7 A – G); ascoids 1.1 times longer than a flagellomere ( Fig. 7 DView FIGURES 7 A – G); 13 th flagellomere subcylindrical with terminal apiculus separated by a suture ( Fig. 7 EView FIGURES 7 A – G). Palpus three segmented; basal segment with sensilla in depressed pit on medial surface; palpus formula 1.0: 0.7: 0.7 ( Fig. 7 BView FIGURES 7 A – G). Wing. R 4 + 5 with base unsclerotized; M 2 with base unsclerotized r-m unsclerotized and m-cu present ( Fig. 7 CView FIGURES 7 A – G). Male terminalia: Hypandrium and gonocoxites fused. Arm of gonocoxite with apicolateral bristles. Gonostylus slightly sclerotized, articulated ventrally to gonocoxite, bare, curved and truncated. Presence of one pair of curved projections in the aedeagal complex. Aedeagus bifid and convergent. Ejaculatory apodeme short, 0.5 times the length of gonostylus ( Fig. 7 GView FIGURES 7 A – G). Epandrium pilose, longer than wide. Cercus piriform and pilose. Hypoproct with apical micropilosity, truncate apically and with setulae in the medial and basal portion ( Fig. 7 FView FIGURES 7 A – G).

Female. Unknown.

Material examined. Brazil, Amazonas, Manaus, Reserva Ducke, 26–31.VIII. 2011, holotype ♂, M.X. Araújo leg. ( MZFS); 4 paratypes: 1 ♂, same locality, date and collector as holotype ( INPA); 2 ♂, Amazonas, Presidente Figueiredo, Pitinga, 04.XII. 1998, RQ, LMC leg. ( MZFS); 1 ♂, Amazonas, Purupuru, Est. Nunes de Melo, Km 8 – 12, 26.XI. 1998, without name of collector ( INPA).

Etymology. Named in honor of Dr. Cínthia Barreto Chagas, in recognition of her help in the realization of this study.

Distribution. Brazil—Amazonas.
