World distribution: Mozambique, South Africa [not India, Madagascar] ( McLachlan, 1870: 199; Krüger, 1914: 77; Oswald 2024a).
Note: McLachlan’s speculation in the original publication of Osmylus interlineatus that its Natal type locality was incorrect, and that the type locality was actually in India, appears to be incorrect. Subsequent specimen collections have confirmed the presence of O. interlineatus in southern Africa (Tjeder 1957: 180), not India.
